This is my first attempt at a themed puzzle since returning to crosswording. The revealer is the same as a relatively recent NYT Sunday puzzle (even though its use and the other theme entries are different) so this is another one I wrote not intending to submit anywhere. Practice makes perfect?

I tried to clue this to a Wednesday NYT level but according to test solvers, it is may be harder than that. Your mileage will likely vary.
