Themeless #7

February 11, 2023

I wrote this 68 word themeless back in September of 2022 before embarking on a run of more heavily themed puzzles. I haven’t had a chance to construct anything new this year and so it seemed like a good time to post this to keep up my one-puzzle-a-month schedule on this site.

The primary seed for this was 16-Across, which I came upon in an article in The Atlantic (not linking to the story to avoid a spoiler). Being of an older generation, anything that makes younger generations feel increasingly out-of-touch is good by me and highly worthy of a crossword.

Otherwise, I enjoyed comparing today’s media to yesterday’s in 18-Across, getting a political barb with 8-Down and referencing a favorite expression in 49-Down. Have fun with the solve!
