When I started this project in early 2023, I hadn’t been in much of a mood to create bigger puzzles and so I decided to focus on minis for a change. In particular, I set up some constraints and then got to work.

First the constraints:

• Each puzzle is to be a 5x5 mini with no blocks
• The top left letter of the first puzzle would be an A and then each subsequent puzzle would follow alphabetically
• 1-Across should be something light and enjoyable
• The first letter of each clue must be the same within each mini, but no Clue Torture™ allowed — the clues have to sound normal

After first creating a post for each mini, I decided to build a microsite-with-a-site on Quid.Pro. This is that site. I will post to the main blog when I add more AlphaMinis so be sure to keep on eye on things there or subscribe to the main RSS feed.
